World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the sixth major expansion for World of Warcraft, bringing a new twist to the popular MMORPG strategy game. Players will find that many areas of Azeroth have been changed or added to, so you’ll need to consider whether your main focus in the game is on PvE PvP or both. If you aren’t sure which area you’ll need to focus on, there are some help-lines available to help players make the right choices.
Players are encouraged to start as low as they can for Cataclysm, and the economy should be the last thing to change. In previous expansions, items were common enough that every player was able to make the starting experience of new players easier by trading, killing monsters, gathering resources and farming. However, with more resources now needing to be found in higher level zones, those high level players will need to be quick on their feet to find the most appropriate resources for them. Cataclysm offers a lot of new ways to do this.
One great way to start grinding is in the land of Theramore, where players can buy the following to start grinding fast. Warforged gear can be found, and some pieces of unique PvP armor. The most common mobs you will be able to kill here will be hunters and catapults, so each class has a decent amount of potential to gain from the location. You can also find Warforged (vast) resources in Frostwall – the other faction’s starting zone. You will be able to find warforged parts, ore and food, in addition to most weapons and armor.
Unfortunately, not every player can afford the same amount of currency in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, so the next best option for many of them will be something much cheaper and better – simply using NPCs for mob drops. Players will have to pay money for the drops, but it’s a cheaper option for players who can’t use the Auction House – particularly for low level players who don’t have lots of gold in their wallets. Of course, the easiest option for players would be to buy their drops, and then sell them at Auction Houses for a profit. However, this can be a little more difficult, so players can simply go for a combination of the two options.
Another place for players to grind in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is Outland. As Outland is where the orcs, humans and undead are from, many players think that they can gain less from this location, since they are only used for PvP and are also very isolated from each other. That’s not the case though. Although they are extremely far from each other, the human faction is close to Outland, which is located in the eastern part of Azeroth, so this could be an advantage.
The third area in which players can grind in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is Swamp of Sorrows. You will find all of the classic enemies from the first two areas (jungle trolls, tauren), along with other races of creatures that don’t necessarily have anything to do with the other factions. This is a good choice because it brings in good amounts of gold as well as experience, making it a good choice if you want to be a melee DPS while leveling, and can also be a good spot to get quests from the factions for items and potions.
Lastly, there are High Level zones that are in high demand for all players, especially if they are PvP players and especially if they have done a lot of dungeons in earlier areas. Players can also find valuable rare items in these zones. The most popular High Level zones are Azeroth – Horde, Azeroth – Alliance and Undercity – Horde.
These are just a few examples of the strategic zone that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will offer. If you are one of the many players who has enjoyed the current online game, you will find yourself asking “Where do I grind next?” to be answered.
